On January 1, 2011, The Southern Chester County Soccer Association entered into a 10 year agreement with The Kennett Area Park Authority to renovate, maintain, and manage the Tino Leto fields at Anson B. Nixon Park. The YMCA is no longer managing and scheduling the fields.

If anyone has been to the fields lately, you would know that they need a lot of work. SCCSA is currently working with field development experts to ascertain the extent of repairs needed to bring these fields back to a safe playing condition that can withstand the use of multiple groups.

Starting in March 2011, we shut down the front half of the field to begin aggressive accelerated maintenance.  The back half of the field will be open this Spring for rental and public use.  We expect the front to be ready by early summer, when we will then open the front, and close the back half for regrading and reseeding.  The expectation is that the entire process will be complete, including irrigation, by Spring 2012.

Due to this renovation work, there will be limited space available for organized group rental for the next year. We will continue to leave 25% of the space open and available to the public free of charge.

When complete, this will be one of the finest all grass multisport field complex in the Kennett Square area serving all of our local sports groups and the public.
