SCCSA contributes $10,000 to Unionville Sports Council's Field Campaign

Southern Chester County Soccer Association (SCCSA) has donated $10,000 to the Unionville Sports Council campaign to build a synthetic surface on the Unionville Stadium Field.

SCCSA is the area's leading youth organization, with over 1300 soccer players and 100 teams playing on fields in the Fall & Spring throughout Southern Chester County.

The SCCSA is an advocate of keeping kids active, and is an important partner of all the area school districts.

SCCSA is currently working with both the Unionville School District and the Kennett School District on long term field rental agreement proposals in order to assist with future debt service of field installations.

"We are appreciative of the Southern Chester County Soccer Association's donation," says Joe Carney, President of the USC. "The important message of this contribution is that it came unsolicited. The SCCSA has recognized the need to have better fields in the Unionville School District, and understand how this synthetic surface can allow more kids to play not only soccer, but also football, field hockey, and lacrosse. They made the donation for all the kids in the area."

SCCSA will be recognized on the Field's proposed Entrance Wall of 30 Major Donors, and will join Exelon Generation, and others as important contributors.

"We are pleased to make the contribution to the Unionville Sports Council," says Michael Finnegan, President of the SCSSA. "As a non-profit organization, it is unusual for us to make a contribution of this type, but the Sports Council has made extraordinary efforts to highlight the needs in the Unionville School District for better fields, and we wanted to support their continuing efforts. Their research and promotion of the importance of private support of public education is remarkable. We invite all community members and youth organizations who share our belief in the importance of physical activity for kids, to also contribute to the Sports Council's efforts."
