Parents: Get involved with SCCSA Soccer
The Southern Chester County Soccer Association has been
promoting youth soccer in Southern Chester County since 1977. The club gives
children from ages 5 through 15 the opportunity to form friends, learn teamwork
and grow through the challenges of soccer.
We are an all volunteer organization. The people that
organize and run the league, manage the fields, and coach the teams are all
parents of children in the league. Our league cannot run without volunteers.
The number of parents willing or able to give up a few hours a week for a very
worthy cause has been falling off in the past few years, making it challenging
to keep the program running efficiently. We need your help.
It doesn't take a lot. We need help at all levels. If you
want to get involved in coaching, we can pair you up with someone who is
experienced. We are looking for volunteers in the following areas:
- Board Members - help guide and grow our organization.
- Field Monitors - spend a few hours at the fields on
Sundays to point people in the right direction or report any problems to a
board member.
- Age Group Commissioners - organize the coaches and teams
for an age group.
- Coaches and Assistant Coaches - join in on the
excitement of the sidelines.
- Advertising - help us get the word out to children about
our program.
- Sponsorships - Solicit local businesses to sponsor our rec teams or league.
If you want more information, or want to volunteer for
any of the above positions, please contact a board member, get in touch with us
through your coach, or email us at
rec@sccsasoccer.com. You can also attach a note to your registration
form, but please submit it early so that we can plan for the Fall Season.
